Recently I’ve been thinking a lot of about where I spend my money, making sure to buy the peanut butter made in Canada over the American brand in hopes that in some way I can support my community while giving the finger to angry orange Cheeto down south (sorry to my American friends).
However I’m also lucky enough to be part of another wonderful community, one made up of talented amigurumi designers who all put their creativity and hard work into each loveable design. During my few short years of posting my crochet projects online I have met so many amazing and creative crocheters from all across the globe, and while I adore each one of those relationships, it’s the ones from my fellow Canadians that mean the most, now more than ever.
With the constant threat of a trade war starting, the possibility of another recession and you know… everything else, sticking together is going to be the key to making sure our art and passion can survive in the coming years.
For those reasons and more, I want to give a shout out to some of my fellow Canadian Amigurumi pattern makers, please go support them if you can, tell them I said hello (this is not a comprehensive list, if you have any suggestions please send them to knottybearstudio@gmai.com)!
